Welcome to your 15-week program to get ready for your first half marathon! If you're like most people, you probably have a mix of excitement and nerves about the big race. But don't worry, with a little dedication and hard work, you can feel confident and prepared on race day.
Here's what your training will look like:
This program will take you to race day (in Yellow). you can start from anywhere on this program just have W15 (week 15) the race weekend. This program is meant for beginners running their first or maybe second 21.1km 1/2 marathon.
This is the same style of program we use here at MEF for our running athletes.
Deload is about taking it easy at a slower pace, you will learn to love the deload weeks. in Blue are for km on a bike or elliptical - still getting the k's in but not the impact on the joints.
Get plenty of rest and focus on proper nutrition to ensure you are well-rested and ready to tackle the marathon on race day!
Remember, training for a marathon takes time and dedication, but with a consistent training plan and the right mindset, you can achieve your goals and cross that finish line with confidence.
